The Thalia Civic Club was formed on 12 March, 1951 when the residents of Thalia village wanted to improve the neighborhood. The newly formed civic club was quick to form and organize the Thalia Civic Club Volunteer Fire Department in 1952 to provide fire protection services in the Thalia area of Princess Anne County.
